Mission? "Bring cooking to the people"

What does cooking mean to me?
For me, cooking is not just about combining and cooking food, but about connecting people and making them happy.
Even as a child, Leonhart Andergassen was fascinated by his grandmother's stove – today, he inspires thousands on social media with his culinary skills. The young South Tyrolean, who is completing his apprenticeship at the Naturhotel Rainer, has a clear mission: to bring cooking back to the mainstream. With ambitious goals, creative dishes, and an unwavering determination, he demonstrates that cooking is more than just a profession – it's a way of life.
About me & why I am a chef
Even as a small child, I would sit fascinated by my grandmother's stove and watch her conjure up magical dishes with just a few ingredients. To this day, I don't understand how she manages to make the world's best "Umletten" (a dish made from sauerkraut) – a simple yet incomparably delicious dish that reminds me of my childhood every time. Her way of cooking inspired me and showed me that good food doesn't have to be complicated, but thrives on heart, passion, and the right ingredients.
I strive for freedom—not only in my life, but also in my cooking. For me, cooking means more than just combining foods; it's a way to connect people, bring joy, and create something lasting. My goal is to help others, whether through culinary inspiration or simply by brightening their day with a good meal.
